قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ
Say: He is Allah, One.
Translation of meaning · Quran 112:1 ↗One Creator, one direction for worship
Tawhid—the oneness of Allah—is the foundation of Islam. Allah alone is worthy of worship. Surah Al-Ikhlas teaches His oneness and incomparability. Faith is not only an inherited label: it shapes trust, prayer, gratitude, moral responsibility and hope.
Guidance through revelation
Muslims receive the Quran as the revelation of Allah and follow Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as His Messenger. His authentic Sunnah explains and embodies the life of faith. Read the sources with care, distinguishing the sacred text from translation and human commentary.
Faith takes visible form
The five pillars give Muslim life an enduring structure: the testimony of faith, prayer, zakat, fasting Ramadan and pilgrimage for those able to undertake it. They connect belief with disciplined practice, service and shared responsibility.
A concise primary reference
Sahih al-Bukhari 8 records the five foundations of Islam. This is a starting point for learning, not a substitute for the detailed rules of each obligation.

Begin with Surah Al-Fatihah and Surah Al-Ikhlas, alongside an accessible explanation. Then study the testimony of faith and the purpose and practice of prayer with a trustworthy teacher.
Faith begins with knowing who alone deserves worship
The central claim of Islam is not simply that a Creator exists. It is that Allah alone is the Creator, Lord and rightful object of worship, without partner or equal. This is why tawhid changes more than vocabulary: it redirects prayer, reliance, fear, hope, love, gratitude and ultimate obedience to Allah alone. It also frees a person from treating created things—wealth, status, personalities or institutions—as if they possessed divine authority.
Revelation teaches what reason cannot discover by itself
Human beings can reflect on creation and recognise signs of order, dependence and purpose. Yet the details of how Allah wants to be worshipped, what He has made obligatory or forbidden, and what awaits after death require revelation. Muslims therefore return to the Quran and the authentic Sunnah rather than inventing a religion from personal preference. Sound reasoning and revelation are not enemies; reason is used honestly to understand, verify and respond to what Allah has revealed.
Belief is meant to produce worship and character
A creed that never changes conduct has not been allowed to bear its full fruit. Knowledge of Allah should deepen prayer, repentance, patience and gratitude. Belief in accountability should restrain injustice even when no person is watching. Love of the Messenger ﷺ should lead to learning and following his authentic guidance, not merely using his name as a slogan.
- Learn the meaning of the testimony of faith before treating it as a formula.
- Read short Quran passages with a reliable explanation and note what they teach about Allah.
- Protect the five obligatory prayers and learn their requirements carefully.
- Separate authentic evidence from inherited customs, viral quotations and unsupported claims.
- Ask Allah for guidance and act on the truth as it becomes clear.
Is Islamic faith only an inner feeling?
No. Faith includes conviction of the heart, truthful acknowledgement and a life that responds through worship and obedience. Feelings rise and fall, while the believer continually returns to Allah through knowledge, prayer, repentance and righteous action.
